The Thyanis is commanded by a Vulcanoid man who is known for explosive bouts of temper in a most un-Vulcan temper, believing the small craft to be an insult to his command and it is likely to keep him on a tighter leash. His crew is an odd bunch of misfits with eclectic backgrounds and many secrets who strangely get along, at least enough to actually complete assignments.
