Summary

As a Science Officer posted to a ship whose primary focus is supportive Engineering to Taskforce 72, Dren Lor’s role is to leverage his expertise to the efforts of the Engineers of USS Fresno in order to provide alternate angles of examination and approach.  The truth of the matter is that sometimes matters of Science and Engineering can overlap.  The advantage of being a joined Trill means that Dren also can draw upon the vast and myriad experience of the Lor symbiont, and those in command of Taskforce 72 felt this would give Dren Lor an advantage in accepting a posting whose primary mission would otherwise put him outside of the purview of his choice in career.

Appearance

It is not initially obvious that Dren Lor hails from the planet of Trill, as much of the spotting on his face is concealed by a thick mane of yellowish hair and a mutton chop beard.  His build is quite average, the body a result of a meek science nerd who had spent his early years with his nose stuck in data pads and computer terminals.  The wild hair and mutton chops lend him a rakish contradiction to his otherwise docile build; certainly a more bold and confident influence of the Lor symbiont.

Personality

The friends and family of Dren who knew him before his joining would tell you that they barely recognize him now, but that isn’t wholly uncommon a thing to find when it concerns Trill joinings.  Dren was a meek, mousy fellow who was more interested in his studies and scientific phenomena than he was socializing.  The Lor symbiont, by contrast was much more hedonistic.  The result is an individual comprised of two who finds themselves confidently biting off more than they can chew as they work to compromise their differences and settle on a middle ground.
