T’mal stood at one side of the table, through her Vulcan exterior, you could tell she was nervous, her palms were sweating, her eyes were watching the Captain and XO as they were talking about crew rotations, and others as they filed into the Obs Lounge. This was her first briefing since she had done her mockup in the Science Academy on Earth in the Academy. It is quite bewildering. Fortunately Talat was by her side looking quite as bewildered.

“Alright Lieutenant’s, the briefing is yours. I will do my spheel at the end of the meeting.” Meila smiled and leaned in with her hands closed.

This was a need to know mission, so this was fortunately only Four sets of eyes on them, “Right, so while we were rescuing you Lt. T’mal found a tear which was confirmed with several ships. Our working Hypothesis is that there is something in the Solar System, we have called ‘Disparu’, causing the rip.” Talat paused.

“But, why would it appear now?” Imal asked, partially wondering why she was here.

“Ah yes, T’mal?” Talat waved her forward.

“The only thing we could deduce is that the Romulan Technology was activated and was meant to create the tear. Should it continue it can and will result in tearing apart the whole sector.” T’mal said, internally she was maintaining her  composure but she was very proud of herself.

“That’s where you come in Commander Imal, if I can interject,” Meila looked up from her padds of information for permission, T’mal nodded, “I need you to review the information from the San Diego‘s away team and my team to determine what we have to do. Further work with Jovan, he was on the ground he would be able to tell you more. The rest of us, we have to make sure that the ‘Disparu’ System is not headed towards any systems. We are not in a densely populated area fortunately but, there are some populated zones we have to watch out for, T’mal and Talat, continue working on your hypothesis, find a way to close the tear. Thank you.”

She watched as everyone moved out of the room with the exception of Dr. Jovan, “You okay?”

“Yes I am fine, in a bit of pain from the away mission but i will be fine.” Meila said.

Jovan took out his tricorder and ran it over Meila, “You had quite the injuries on the away mission, and you are one of the worst patients I ever had… Come to Sickbay with me, and let me finish the treatment, it will be done in private.”

“I appreciate that Jovan, but…” Meila was about to protest but remembered her and the previous Captain, “alright.”

As the two went to sickbay, the Captain was stopped many times. Jovan waved off the interuptions and sent them to the XO in hopes that Meila would finally get the treatment that she needed.
