((A few hours after the Dinner))

We find Traan, Saito, Jos, and a few others they had invited, back at Jos’s quarters, listening to music and partying the night away. They played countless hands of poker and a good time was had by all.

The neurosurgon had a great set of quarters for hosting parties – almost like he had planned it that way.  Lots of seats and places to crash, warm decor from Andor and Risa, pictures of friends and family and a nice, well stocked bar.

Not that being drunk made anybody better at playing poker… but it sure did make a whole lot more fun. If by fun one meant chaotic that is.

((A few hours later))

It was only Traan, Saito and Jos left. And the level of intoxication of all 3 of them was almost certainly beyond what was medically safe.

Then again they had a medical officer with them and he seemed to be okay with it so maybe it was medically safe? Maybe it was merely… poor decision making in action.

((The next morning))

Traan awoke with one of the worst headaches he had ever had. What happened last night? Why did he drink some much? What time was it?

As he opened his eyes and lifted his head, he realized he wasn’t alone. He was lying next to Lt. Saito, and they both were wearing only their briefs and their undershirts.

‘What the….oh for Kirks sake, tell me this is just a dream. I dont remember anything after the poker game. I dont remember inviting her back to my quart….’ he thought to himself. He then realized he wasn’t in his own bed, or even his own quarters. 

‘This is bad…this is really really bad.’ He said outloud inadvertantly waking up Saito.

Traan: Uh…good morning…

Saito: *looking around* Uh, good morning. This is awkward.

Traan: Uh…did we…do anything last night?

Saito: We drank way to much…

Traan: Agreed. But I meant did we do anything in the bed? I Don’t remember a thing…*He sat up on the edge of the bed for a moment, and then found his pants and tunic and began getting dressed.*

Saito: Neither do I. I dont think we…did anything.

Traan looked at the bedsheets and his own briefs. There didnt appear to be any evidence that they had done the deed.

Traan: Full disclosure here…I’m married. I have 2 wives back on Andoria. If uh…we did do anything, it was wrong of me to do…dont get me wrong, you’re a lovely young pinkskin, but um…I dont think we should uh, see eachother again…I dont mean to hurt your feelings at all, but uh…yeah…I’m just gonna go…’

Saito: I did not want it to happen, either, to be honest with you. I just got here and I do not want to rush into a relationship like that, can we please just not do this again, but still be friends?

Traan: *He chuckled nervously, realizing that this might be just as awkward for her as it was for him. He let out a sigh* I think that would be OK, as long as we agree, no more alcohol when we’re together…

((A few moments later)l

Traan left the spare room they were in and found Jos just stirring from his slumber, starfished on his couch.

Jos: I want the registry of the shuttlecraft that hit me…

Traan: Morning…thanks for letting me, I mean us, crash here last night. It was fun, but I think I might quit drinking for the foreseeable future.

Theran sat up and slowly stretched, with all the grace of an experienced partier. This was the sort of skillset you didn’t advertise to your superior officers.

Jos: Man, that was a great night! Though in retrospect 7 bottles of Ale with dinner might have been a few too many. 

Maybe just one or two too many.

Traan: Huh, I think the 7 with dinner was fine….it was all the ones after dinner that were the issue. *Shakes his head in dismay, quite disappointed in himself. Letting himself have a few drinks with dinner and getting to bed early had turned into an alcohol induced Blackout and him walking up at 1100h.* Wow, its 1100 already.

Jos: But we’re on shore leave!  There’s no schedule on shore leave!  Besides… *his blue eyes glittered* I have some anti-hangover medication already prepped and ready.

Oh he did. One of the benefits of drinking with a doctor.

Traan rolled up his sleeves with a pained smile.

Traan: Yeah, that’s sounds good, fix me up Doc, gimme some of that ‘go juice’. Unlike most, I just arrived about a month ago. And I’ve been promoted and assigned to the Shipyard. Todays my first shift…” Traan chuckled, he couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. He had almost forgotten that he was a Lt JG now. It had certainly been a party for the ages.
