Elsie was ready for her next appointment, now she’s meeting with the chief of security for the station. And enduring fun loving spirited Andorian walked into the office.

“Lieutenant Sotti Sh’thothrath, reporting as ordered man.” Sotti said that she stood at the position of attention and sent her to the table.

“At ease Lieutenant, please have a seat.” Elsie called out as she motioned with her hand for Sotti to sit down.

Sotti sat down as instructed, and waited to see what this meeting was about.

“You really hit the ground running hard haven’t you? I appreciate that in a security officer especially my Chief of Security.” Elsie said to Sotti.

“Thank you ma’am, I’m just doing my best. I am happy to say that all the senior staff now have their credentials and most of the department she’s have their credentials as well. Hopefully we should have another incident like we did yesterday involving Lieutenant Uzo.” Sotti said, feeling a little bad about throwing the lieutenant under the bus but it was part of her job. As cheap as security she needed to know exactly who was wearing why they were there at all times. She’d like to run a smooth department. And she didn’t want any discrepancies or anything to blenish her record.

“In some ways she’s like you really eager to get started, however I don’t think her intentions were ill placed, and her heart was in the right place so we’re going to let that go.” Elsie pointed out too Sotti.

“The array is going to be operational within the hour. I want you to honor roll so space communications that come into the station. I’m mainly interested in any chatter regarding the array itself.” Elsie explain to Sotti.

“I can do that, may I ask why though?” Sotti asked hoping she wasn’t out of line for asking the question.

“The Romulan people are really concerned about us having this array, so close to their territory. I want to know as soon as possible if there’s any potential threats to the array or to our station you’re perfectly had temporarily shut down the station, but now we’re back up and we’re operational again.

“Are you expecting someone to be a saboteur?” Sotti asked a little confused, wondering how could this be? They were all Starfleet. Who would want to help the Romulan people commit Espionage against starfleet.

Then it dawned on Sotti, the last time the romulans were concerned they sent it an agent and that age it was a sleeper agent for many years. Commodore Oh, was the aging question and she did a lot of damage because a lot of people just naturally assumed she was who she said she was.

“And how long would you like me to keep up this surveillance?” Sotti asked Elsie, hoping not forever because that was going to tie up some of her staff’s resources.

Elsie thought about the question for a moment, and then she said. “At least for a week, and then we’ll reassess if we need to keep monitoring the situation.”

“Understood ma’am.” Sotti said, trying to figure out how she was going to keep her staff focused on that project and on the station itself. Luckily they didn’t have a huge civilian population.

Sotti then had a question of her own, he hope this is the appropriate time to ask. “Ma’am I have a question for you?”

Elsie was a little curious cuz you wasn’t expecting her chief of security to have a question for, she wondered if it was about the mission to observe the communications.

“We don’t have room for all the logistics that are going to be coming through here, I don’t know how you want security to handle the additional items that may come through. Our cargo base already full with our own stuff I don’t know how we’re going to make room for all the supplies.” Sotti ass, trying to figure out her head how they were they going to do this, what is Starfleet plan to handle the access loads of supplies coming in.

“Are logistic director is going to work with our local shipments and suppliers, we’re going to have civilian transport bring gear to us and then the Paso Robles will deliver them out, I’m trying to get us another Starship or two I actually want to but right now I’m in the process of getting it’s the least one more and these shifts will grab the materials that are brought here from the civilian transports and then take him out to the fleet as needed. In theory if we do store anything it should be less than 24 hours. However we’re not going to order the parts until we know our ships are back so it’s going to require a logistics director to coordinate that accordingly.

Think of us as a third party carrier service, we actually don’t keep any of the inventory we just process the paperwork and get it out to them as soon as possible. The civilian transports will automatically send the supplies over to the USS Paso Robles and any other ships in our future, that will be apart of our division.” Elsie attempted to explain to her, hoping that what she was saying was making sense.

“So it’s like playing a game of chess moving pieces around and not actually having any of those supplies actually delivered to the station if possible, is that correct?”

“Precisely Lieutenant, we just need a central place for them to deliver to and that will be here. Civilian transports don’t like delivering into the middle of nowhere. But will make sure our deliveries online with when the Paso Robles will be returning and any future ships that they’ll be part of our division. The idea is, when our supply vessels come in the civilian vessels will meet them in our sector of space they’ll deliver the parts and then we will send them out to the fleet. It’s not an ideal situation but this station will serve as a hub of sorts. But for a security perspective most of those parts should never reach the station.”

“I understand ma’am, and thank you for the explanation.” Sotti said, thinking to yourself it was a little more complicated than she thought it was going to be. And she was grateful she wasn’t the logistics director assigned to the station.

“Unless you have any other questions, our time here is almost at an end. I have a lot more meetings to get through and I definitely want to catch up with you soon.” Elsie said realizing their 10 minutes was almost up. She had several other meetings to attend to today plus he still had to make her around and spend time with your children and somewhere in their squeeze in a meal or two.

The scene ends with Sotti leaving the ready room, and Elsie looking at her terminal to figure out her next meeting and who would be with. He kept thinking to herself she really needed a yeoman.
