As the doors swooshed open and closed and various people came on to the bridge, Walton wanted to shoot them all. “And you tell that engineer, we need to get the main security computers online, I am not using rudimentary systems from pre-dominion war here!” she yelled as she brushed the red hair our of her face. 

Feeling the elastic on her arm she threw her hair up into a ponytail and looked at the young woman before her…”Well… go.”

The new CO was due on the ship in less than twelve hours and the ship looked like a disaster. Not something you want to see on your first command, atleast not something that Elisabeth Victoria Warren wanted on her plate. Explaining to the Commander why things weren’t done. 

Kas was seated in her counselor’s station going over crew psych evals, making note of the Chief of Security for potential Anger Management issues. “You okay over there Lieutenant Warren?” Kas said in a calm voice.

“Just peachy keen. Trying-to-do-my-job with a Mac Truck.” Warren said trying to pull something out from under the console. 

Moments later alarms wrang out on the CO’s chair and the Security console, Kas leapt to her feet and got it from the CO’s Chair. “Engineering has a fire and the environmental systems are out, and someone’s trying to get into the Commanders Quarters.” she read out. “Which do you want?”

“I’ll take the break-in you go for the Engineering.” Warren said. 

“Don’t shoot anyone! We don’t have a medical crew yet!” Kas added as they parted ways.
