The Rubidoux forced return to normal space leaves somewhat disappointed, due to a wistful feeling as the past weeks have been quite  fulfilling. From our first underspace journey, to encountering the ‘gem planet’, being able to chalk another find on onto the rarities board was deeply satisfying, to mapping several hundred kilometers in an effort to locate and retrieve the mission pod that was cut adrift in the initial encounter with an underspace event. It is also gratifying to note the California-Class, rarely seen outside of known space lanes at present, handled the environments well.

 

I am also pleased to report there were no casualties, despite being In unknown regions for an extended period, majority of injuries were minor and crew members are back on duty, save one. Lieutenant Charnack th’Zerran, had suffered a fall during an away mission and due to complications subsequently had his right foot amputated, the manner he composed himself during the incident and his conduct during the rehabilitation progress has been exemplary, a citation for bravery has already been submitted.

 

I have been offered a new command. This is not the first time since the events of Fronter Day. In the past I would have refused without consideration. Recent events have led me to not just consider, but accept, while I do so with a degree of trepidation this is the right time for me.
