‘The Republic, by all means.’ Admiral Beckett’s gaze was level as he stared down the commander of the Fourth Fleet. ‘But Klingons? With all due respect…’

‘Always a good start,’ murmured Fleet Admiral Ramar, sitting unperturbed behind his desk.

‘If we have KDF vessels serving alongside our ships, Chancellor Toral will order them to turn on us if he wakes up and decides he’s in a bad mood!’ Beckett was unabashed by Ramar’s seeming indifference. They sat in the fleet commander’s office on Starbase Bravo, but rather than its trappings of authority curbing the human’s bad mood, privacy had made him bold.

‘That would be a violation of the Khitomer Accords,’ said Ramar, with all the calm of a man who knew he was in charge and would get his own way by the end of this tantrum.

‘Do you think Toral cares about that?’

‘I think a lot of the Great Houses do.’ As Beckett opened his mouth again, Ramar lifted a firm hand. ‘Many like his saber rattling. They support conquest of Romulan territory. They even like the idea of not being so close to the Federation. You know what they also like? Trade agreements. Research collaboration. Intelligence sharing. And Chancellor Toral cares a great deal about keeping those Great Houses happy.’ Ramar shook his head. ‘He can dislike the Khitomer Accords all he wishes. Distance himself from them, even. But break them? No. And the Accords have provisions for this.’

‘Arrangements for Klingon ships to be fully integrated within Starfleet units were for either times of great stability, or full wartime mobilisation! This is neither!’ Beckett blustered. Then, more petulant, ‘And why us? Why the Fourth Fleet?’

‘You’ve already laid the groundwork, Alexander.’ Ramar took unsubtle delight in hoisting the Director of Fourth Fleet Intelligence on his own petard. ‘The planned secondment of Romulan Republic ships to our units has us already prepared for integrated allied vessels.’

‘That was for – I made those arrangements with Republic Naval Command to further the interests of the treaty, so Starfleet could better buoy up Republic interests, to bring our organisations and governments closer!’

‘And Admiral Dahlgren made arrangements with the House of Koloth on a similar basis. What better way to keep our friends in the empire close and prosperous?’

‘Dahlgren,’ Beckett echoed, narrowing his eyes. ‘He negotiated with Koloth.’

Ramar finally smiled the smile of a victor. ‘You were busy with Republic Naval Command. And you did a splendid job.’

It is with great excitement that we share with everyone that Bravo Fleet members can now purchase ships from the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic! So what is now on offer to you all?

From the rank of Midshipman, everyone will be given one free command slot for a Klingon ship and one free command slot for a Romulan ship. Yes, that’s right, you all get a free command slot to treat yourselves to a Klingon and a Romulan ship as well! For now, members can only have one Romulan and one Klingon ship as we test this feature out. We hope to expand this system successfully based on interaction and feedback from everyone. These are the classes of ships that are now available to purchase and their costs:

Klingon Empire:

Romulan Republic:

The addition of starships from the Klingon Empire and Romulan Republic to the fleet asset system reflects a change in the Fourth Fleet’s operations. These ships are not foreign vessels wholly pursuing their own government’s orders and interests, but military units seconded from the KDF, a Klingon House’s military, or the Romulan Republic Navy to the Fourth Fleet. They are fully integrated with the fleet’s task forces and can even serve within a squadron or division, although their officers may not hold positions on the fleet staff. Under the provisions of the Khitomer Accords and the Federation-Republic alliance, they are full members of their own organisations, holding their state’s ranks and wearing their uniforms, but serving within a Starfleet unit.

This bold undertaking is a testament to the Federation’s friendship. For the Republic, it gives the one truly democratic Romulan state legitimacy and support, where they can secure Starfleet aid in bolstering and protecting their territory, and, in turn, prove themselves worthy and useful partners. For the tumultuous Klingon Empire, pro-Federation Houses can seize the glorious opportunities of Starfleet adventure and demonstrate to warmongers the benefits of the enduring alliance.

These new commands are not foreign ships, and they are certainly not adversaries – they are allies, part of the Fourth Fleet, and working closer alongside Starfleet than has been seen since the Dominion War.

Additionally, those who hold a flag rank can utilise their flag rank slots to create Klingon or Romulan flag officers.

The Logistics and Intelligence policies have been updated to reflect these new changes.

A big thank you to everyone who has made this latest chapter in Bravo Fleet happen!
