Mirror, Mirror

Description

The Mirror Universe.
That delightful place where everyone has questionable facial hair, half their wardrobe is leather, and morality is basically a choose-your-own-adventure novel written by a sociopath.

For this competition, you get to take one of your characters and create a Mirror Universe counterpart. Not just “the evil version.”

  • What’s the same? Because even in the Mirror Universe, some core traits stick around.
  • What’s different? Context, environment, and survival-of-the-fittest rules have shaped them in ways your Prime character could never imagine.
  • What are the delicious contradictions? Does your kindly medical officer suddenly become a tyrant in a lab coat? Does your cut-throat tactical officer somehow end up as a misunderstood poet who secretly knits?

Pick one of you existing characters (and link them in the submission box, so we know who they are).

In the submission box (and I cannot stress this enough: the text box. Not BFMS.), write a new bio for their Mirror counterpart. You only need four sections: Overview, Personality, Appearance, and History.

 

Criteria

  • A link to the existing character must be put into the submission box. This needs to be a fleshed out character with overview, personality, appearance, history and service record. Images are optional.
  • The biography of the mirror version must be submitted as text in the submission box. It must contain Overview, Personality, Appearance, and History.
  • The biography will be assessed on the depth of character, the mechanical and stylistic strength of the writing, and appropriateness for the setting and genre of Star Trek in consideration of MU lore.
