Summary

Training at the Mellstoxx III campus, Erik is working hard to show his abilities. He is hoping to end up on the command track, once he completes his academy training.

Though he knows all Cadets must explore the whole breadth of Starfleet departments, as the foundational skills learned there create competent officers. He is confident and tries to maintain his stoic composure, though he as a newcomer to the Mellstoxx III campus he has been getting his bearings after being transferred

Appearance

 

Erik is tall and broad shouldered, with an athletic build. He is naturally fair, with dirty blonde hair and intelligent blue eyes. He keeps his facial hair well trimmed and neat, and takes pride in his appearance. He has a strong gait, with a confident upright bearing, and appears to be someone who could weather any storm.

Personality

Growing up in a large and boisterous household, Erik learned that you have to cut your own space, and earn notice with zeal. He is a very confident speaker, and has a tendency to talk over others if a thought pops into his head. He is respectful to superiors, but has always felt that any officer worthy of their pips cannot hesitate to advocate for a course of action. He believes it is better to make a decision you may have to explain later, rather than let fear paralyze you. This has earned him both praise and reprimands, though he has learned over the course of his Academy years to take the reprimands and make himself a better cadet.

Passionate and earnest, he has not mastered keeping his thoughts from his face, and is easy to read. He sees little shame in emotions, and will laugh hard or cry hard if the mood takes him. Although he knows there is a time and place for decorum and stoicism, he knows a Starship is an extended family; and he is fiercely loyal to his fellow cadets.

History

Erik was born near Oslo on Earth. He loved the fierce landscape of his home, and his mother often remarked that the blood of explorers had long ran in their veins. His father was a Starfleet officer, and so was often away, though Erik has fonds memories of his childhood exploring the Sol system when his father had leave.

Raised in a large and boisterous family, Erik had several family members including his mother who were successful academics and businessmen. Though his mother instituted a love of learning in him from a young age, and his mind proved adept at study, the call of Starfleet always excited him.

With great excitement he was accepted to the Academy, where he quickly learned how rigirous the coursework was. He took to the challenge with a will, and thanks to the support of many fellow cadets he was able to adjust to the demands of the Academy. His keen mind enjoyed Sciences and Engineering, but he has never given up hope of one day standing at the captain’s chair of his own vessel. To that end he has been applying himself hard to the classic path of a future captain, although he knows a Cadet is cycled through all departments.

With his last year approaching, he was finally accepted to transfer to the Mellstoxx III campus on Starbase Bravo. He knew it would be a great stepping stone to a possible command though, and is anxiously awaiting the start of classes.
