Daughter of Captain Emil Shadix. Jewels was born on the USS Rome named Julia after her mom but had always gone by jewels. She grew up in a Starfleet family and made it her goal to join Starfleet. She joined the academy and has just graduated at the rank of ensign and is now currently waiting for assignment at starbase 72.

Julia ‘Jewels’ Shadix was aboard the USS Rome. Her father at the time was the xo, her mother was a medical officer. Starfleet is in her blood and she never expected anything more than joining Starfleet.

She was 8 when the USS Rome was destroyed. The crew was family and as a child, it hurt here. She lost some people she had known for years. She remembered her father’s story about the man who pushed him off the bridge and she wanted to meet him but her father said no.

As a teenager, she got to learn a new ship and see different things. It was strange but great to her she got to see a different ship and a new line of work. Once she was old enough she moved to Starfleet academy.

At the academy, she was dedicated and single-minded. She buried her head in books and didn’t care for much else. She just wanted to succeed and did finishing in the top 3 in her class. unlike some of the others she was not given an assignment right away she was told she was posted to starbase 72 until an assignment was open. As a ops major he was disappointed but there was not telling what might happen
