History

Born to a pair of independent merchants, Leon Elsher spent his childhood traveling the stars with his parents aboard civilian freighters and cargo ships. These early years were formative for him, offering an opportunity to develop a range of skills from helping with starship maintenance to piloting small craft, but what he enjoyed most was the diversity of peoples they encountered from Narendra to Ferenginar and everywhere in-between. Over time, his interest evolved into study, and eventually, he found himself not just observing but actually advising on strategies for commercial negotiation.

Unfortunately, the 2380’s were not kind to the Elshers. From the collapse of the Romulan Empire to continued tensions with the postwar Cardassian Union, there was turmoil along the Federation’s borders, and simultaneously, Starfleet turned inward after the Mars massacre, leaving merchants and traders much to their own devices. Ultimately, this prompted his parents to cash in their earnings and settle on Mantilles, but young Leon Elsher had the travel bug by now, and he didn’t want to stop.
