Summary
Freshly minted Ensign and Starfighter pilot, doing his duty and adjusting to the officer’s life on Starbase Bravo.
Appearance
He has a deep tanned complexion, with dark brown eyes that hold a quiet intensity. He stands at 5′ 11″ tall, and has the lean build and solid core of a person who has spent countless hours in zero-g simulations. His hair is thick and dark, usually cut short and slightly tousled. When he is on leave, he grows it out and ties it back. He has high cheekbones and a strong jawline, with a slightly crooked nose from a training accident.
On Duty, he takes pride in his appearance and his uniform is always tidy and proper. Off duty, he can be seen in casual clothes, but at all times, he wears a carved wooden medallion in the shape of a Loon that was gifted to him by his grandfather.

Personality
Aaron isn’t emotionally closed off, but he doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve. When he notices someone struggling, he find quiet ways to help them, without a scene. He’s more likely to ask a question that offers insight rather than jump into a debate.
Once Aaron trusts someone, that bond is deep. He is loyal to his family, his team, and to the core ideals of Starfleet, but he doesn’t blindly follow orders, choosing to do what is right over what is easy. He keeps his personal life close to his chest, but he opens up once you earn his trust.
He tends towards isolation though, dealing with emotional weight alone rather than confiding in friends. He is used to being the strong, quiet one, so he struggles to ask for help. He is still growing into his role as a leader, and he doubts himself, especially when others are depending on his decisions in the field.
History
Aaron was born on Earth, in the city of Edmonton, he was raised in a household that honoured both his father’s Indigenous Cree-Metis heritage, and his mother’s lunar-Hispanic roots.
From an early age, Aaron was drawn to the stars, but he was also drawn to the land. His father, David, and his grandfather, Isaac, would often take him on canoe trips, fishing on the northern lakes, or walking in the aspen parklands. These two men instilled in him a reverence for natural balance, sustainable creation, and quiet strength. His mother, Mira, on the other hand, showed him the cosmos, telling tales of subspace anomalies and wormholes, inspiring his love of flight and problem-solving.
At age 12, during a fall gathering near Elk Island, Aaron participated in a naming ceremony conducted by his Grandfather. After a night of fasting, prayer and storytelling, he was given the name: Askâw-Kwân (Sky Path).
When Aaron was 16, everything changed. His mother was assigned to a long-term astrophysics collaboration with a Betazoid-led initiative, studying gravimetric wave patterns near the Mellstoxx system. It was a prestigious and career-defining opportunity, but it meant the whole family would have to relocate off-world. His father was initially very hesitant, but he agreed to move once he found work in a sustainable infrastructure development on the Betazoid colony.
For Aaron, that move stung deeply. Leaving Earth meant leaving behind the land that held his family’s stories, ceremonies and ancestors. For a young man who was raised with such connection to a place, Aaron felt unmoored, from his home and himself. The forests of Mellstoxx III smelled different, and the stars in the sky were unfamiliar. He felt like the land didn’t know him. He even resented his parents for moving him for a while.
He applied to Starfleet Academy at age 18 because he realized it was a place where he could grow. He was accepted, showing strong aptitude in flight control, navigation, and tactical response. At the Academy, he became known for his quiet precision and innate spatial awareness in fighter simulations. He never stopped thinking about home, though. He kept his grandfather’s medallion close, carried tobacco in a small pouch in his locker, and sometimes visited a holodeck program he’d built of the river valley near his childhood home, which was complete with birdsong, fireflies, and the distant call of a loon.
In 2402, he graduated from the academy, and was commissioned as an Ensign. He’s been offered a spot at Starbase Bravo as a Starfighter Pilot.
