Newly – married to another crewmember aboard, Amado’s decision to train for Hazard Team duty does not sit well with his husband Phillipe (a Science Division Ensign) – but with his background in Trauma Medicine, Petty Officer Varela is one of the best suited candidates to provide critical care to both the Hazard Team and those they are deployed to interact with – so Amado is at peace with his decision.

Appearance

Amado Varela is an Argentinian Male in his late 20’s, standing 5ft 7ins tall – he is nevertheless fit and lithe and takes care in his appearance.

 

Personality

Amado is compassionate, intelligent and engaging. He exhibits a great sense of teamsmanship and is a natural – fit for the Hazard Team – often acting as the neutral arbiter that intercedes between his team – mates when tempers fray and flare. An extremely personable young man.

An avid fan of the sport of Soccer and follows his team Atlético Tucumán as best he can whilst deployed on a starship. Amado enjoys all sorts of team sports.

History

Amado began his career aboard the Nova – Class Surveyor, USS Mandel (NCC – 72210), providing Medical Support to the crew and away teams as they surveyed new worlds. Aspiring to become more involved with the Humanitarian Aid mandate of Starfleet, he put in for a transfer to the Olympic – class Medical Cruiser, USS Cushing (NCC-60974) and spent several years developing his skills and acumen as a Feild Medical Specialist – providing critical care and emergency aid across a range of disaster management and medical evacuation missions.

Amado met the love of his life, Planetologist Ensign Phillipe Maraud, during a vacation to Risa and after a short engagement the pair were married, with Amado applying for a transfer to his husband’s vessel, the Inquiry – class Exploratory Cruiser, USS Albion (NCC – 89881).

Having been faced with mass – casualties and confronting deployments, Amado is able to priorities and triage patients and provide first response medical aid to ensure the best chance of their survival. A new addition to the
