Summary

Chief Petty Officer Gabriel Lucho Agustín Rojas is the Command Master Chief aboard the USS Albion, answerable to Captain Carrington and responsible for the organization and discipline of all NCO’s and rating aboard the Inquiry – class Exploratory Cruiser.

This native Mexican Senior NCO served previously with the CO for many years aboard the Akira – class Heavy Cruiser USS Ticonderoga (NCC – 69489) and saw combat with the “Old – Man” during the Dominion War and is the one person aboard who Captain Robert Carrington trusts implicitly. Despite the disparity in rank, both veterans share a respectful, but genuine friendship.

The Chief tolerates no nonsense from the Lower Decks, but also feels a keen sense responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the NCO’s and Enlisted under his care. A hard man, but a fair man.

 

Appearance

Gabriel Rochas stands 5ft 10ins tall and is barrel – chested. In his mid – 50’s his black Hispanic hair is turning to salt & pepper, and he carries himself ramrod straight and exudes an aura of command that instantly demands attention and respect. He has warm brown eyes that has seen much and has a careworn, lined face that is testament to his years in service.

Personality

To junior officers, seasoned NCO’s and young enlisted personnel, the approach of Chief Rojas is an event that fills them with trepidation. A career NCO, Gabriel has never married (ostensibly being married to Starfleet) and sees the young servicemembers under his care as his extended family.

Always ready to encourage his crew to be their best, the Chief has a gentle sense of humor that occasionally surfaces as the most surprising times and inwardly is proud of the achievement of his people – as much as his wrath is palpable when they fail to rise to meet their potential.

Privately Gabriel prefers to spend his time reading and is a quite accomplished classical guitarist.

Gabriel Rojas has been a friend of the CO, Captain Carrington for 27 years and counting and Robert relies on Gabriel for an honest, bullshit – free opinion and seeks the Chief’s counsel often.
